Meeting Minutes

Meeting Minutes

August 19, 2008

6:00 pm

Discussion:

Major items discussed were as follows:

  1. Ed Little reported that the Car Nutz account balance is $524.37.
  1. Ed also stated the new order of gray shirts are in.  He also has white, pink and black hats for sale as well as screen print shirts, car plaques and new logo window stickers.  See Ed if you’d like to purchase any of this merchandise.
  1. The Car Nutz First Annual Poker Run and Cookout will be held this Saturday, August 23rd at 1:00 pm.  Participants are to register at NAPA Auto Parts between 1:00 and 1:30 pm and pick up a handout indicating the participating vendors they must visit to pick their cards.  All participants are to return to NAPA Auto Parts by 3:00 pm to turn in their sheet for tallying.  Prizes will be awarded for the best and worst hands as well as many other prizes, 50/50 raffle, free hamburgers, hot dogs and soft drinks.
    • Motion by Tammy Hamel to have Car Nutz donate a t-shirt and hat to be given away as a prize.  Seconded by Nancy Makela and passed unanimously.
    • Wally Langlois volunteered to help Wayne set up in the morning and to help Karl tally the card hands to determine awards.
  1. Wayne announced that Car Nutz is featured on Kixx radio every Tuesday morning at 7:00 am.  Tammy Hamel has joined him a couple of times and encourages anyone else who would like to join in to please let him know.  It’s much more fun and interesting to have at least 2 people on the air at the same time.
  1. The Car Nutz Second Annual Club Members’ Cookout is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Goshen/Lempster Little League Field (directly after the “Run What Ya Brung” event at the Newport Airport).  We will begin to gather around 4:00 pm and dinner will be served around 5:30 pm.
    • All members who plan to attend must see Ed Little or Wayne Boardman to pay for their tickets as soon as possible.  The cost is $10/plate.  All tickets must be purchased in advance!
    • BYO lawn chair and non-alcoholic beverages.
  1. Wayne announced again that David’s House really wants the club to have a cruise to their location before summer is over.  Karl went over the following schedule of events calendar:
    • August 30th & 31st  -  Amherst Sunday (and this would probably not work anyway because of such short notice).
    • September 6th & 7th – Adirondack Nationals in Lake George, NY and the Seafood Festival at Hampton Beach.
    • September 13th & 14th – Good Guys Northeast Nationals in Rhinebeck, NY and the car show at Old Orchard Beach, ME.
    • September 20th & 21st – Run What Ya Brung and the Car Nutz Picnic as well as the Street Rod Nationals in Burlington, VT.
    • September 27th and 28th - Karl would like to schedule a cruise to Weirs Beach this weekend.  Wayne and others felt this may be too late in the season for David’s House anyway.
    • Karl stated he would be willing to lead the cruise on September 14th if that was okay with the club members and with David’s House.  Wayne left a message at David’s House.  He will let us know their response.
  1. Wayne asked that everyone make sure that Jo Langlois has their email address so she can update everyone as things develop.  Please give Jo your email address at lorrie1955@comcast.net.
  1. The September Cruises at Li’l Red Baron will be held on Monday, September 1st and 15th at 6:00 pm.
  1. The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 6:00 pm.
  1. Motion by Rick Hamel and seconded by Mike Hooper to adjourn the meeting.  Motion passed unanimously.

Respectfully submitted,

Judy Schinck
